get to know me

Meeting someone for the first time can be scary enough… never mind singing for them!

I’m Emily, and I’m an experienced singer and singing teacher. With over a decade of teaching experience, I love working with a diverse array of clients across musical styles and genres. I teach adults and children, and have held my current position as Visiting Singing Teacher at Tiffin Girls School for five years. I balance my technical expertise and targeted anatomical understanding of singing with a holistic and personal approach that focuses on getting the best from every client, whilst making sure that they have fun and experience joy in their music-making!

I have experience preparing children and adults for ABRSM, Trinity, LCM and Rock School graded exams, and have helped candidates work towards choral and music scholarships at Oxford and Cambridge Universities, Birmingham University, Tiffin Boys and Girls Schools and Westminster Cathedral School, with a 100% success rate.

I am a professional classical soprano, and have sung as a soloist and ensemble-member at prestigious venues across the UK and internationally, including Wembley Arena, Bristol cathedral, St Martin-in-the-Fields, and Vienna’s Hofburg Palace. I am a regular member of Sonoro, Blossom Street and Armonico, all of whom I have recorded with. I produce, direct and perform in the summer music programme at Albury Vineyard in Surrey. Due to my diverse and varied experience and contact-base, I also offer services fixing singers and musicians for private and corporate events.

I’d love to chat with you to find out more about your specific goals and needs. Drop me a message today so we can talk through what would work best for you.

What People Are Saying

“Emily has very efficiently taken my children from zero to grade 8. She has also made sure that their love for singing strengthened in the process.”

— Ana, mother of two young singers (aged 13 and 15)

“Having been with Emily for over five years, not only has my singing technique developed, but she has helped shape my confidence and love for music. I would highly recommend Emily due to her fun and caring demeanour and her drive to progress young singers.”

— Isabel (aged 18)

“You will get so much out of lessons with Emily. She is knowledgeable, focused, well-prepared, warm and encouraging. I have had such fun and improved hugely. She adapts her practise to the situation and pushes you to find your best voice. Quite simply a brilliant teacher.”

— Richard (32)

“Emily is a truly wonderful teacher who goes above and beyond to ensure her students enjoy, appreciate and accelerate their love for singing. She is super cheerful and dedicated. Many, many thanks, Emily, for your years of dedication and care - both my daughters really enjoy singing and all the credit goes to you!”

— Dipika, mother of two young singers (aged 10 and 14)

“Emily has been teaching my daughter for several years now and each year has helped her achieve high grades in her ABRSM exams. She has embraced and nurtured my daughter’s passion for singing and particularly musical theatre. The lessons are great fun, but professional, and my daughter always looks forward to them. Emily shows both kindness and patience but expects high levels of commitment from her students. She has taken a personal interest in ensuring my daughter’s success during auditions for both in-school and out-of-school opportunities, such as NYCGB, NYMT and BYMT. I can’t thank her enough for her commitment as my daughter’s singing teacher.”

— Chiswick mum to young singer (aged 16)

“Emily is a consummate professional. Her warm and enthusiastic personality makes her an excellent teacher. She creates a fun and safe environment so that her students (both children and adults) are comfortable and therefore in a position to learn and make excellent progress. She is an excellent musician who imparts her knowledge, love and passion for singing to her students.”

— James Dixon, director of music, St. Francis of assisi RC Church
